This hike is a good family hike but you need to bring hiking shoes. Its 4 miles roundtrip. The first part is a big hill. Make sure that everyone watches their step so that nobody twists their ankle. I recommend visiting this hike early in the morning or later in the afternoon because it does get hot. Also, do not hike during rainstorms because it is a mudfest. There are neighbors that live on either side of the trail. Please don’t yell or scream while climbing up the trail. You don’t want them to wake up at 7am on a Saturday morning. That would put anyone in a bad mood.
Bring water, good shoes and a camera. The views are unlike anything you have seen before. There are no wild boars or mosquitos. The beaches that you see below are Lanikai Beach and Kailua Beach Park. Both are safe for swimming. Occassionally, Kailua Beach Park will get jellyfish. Therefore check with the local weather because they will announce when to expect the jellyfish.
